What is the adrenal gland?
What is adrenal cancer?An adrenal tumor is a benign tumor of the adrenal gland. Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a malignant tumor of the adrenal gland and is an uncommon, uncompromising form of cancer which can occur in children or adults. Due to their usually deep positioning, diagnosis can be delayed until the cancer is quite large, by then possibly invading vessels and metastasizing by means of surrounding tissue, the lymphatic system, blood, or other organs. The cause of adrenal cancer is unknown. It is believed that heredity can play a role in the development of this disease. This form of cancer is most common in people in their 30's and 40's. The overall prognosis of adrenal cancer is poor. Signs and symptoms of adrenal cancerA large number of people with Adrenocortical Carcinoma have no symptoms.
