Chemotherapy Backfires: What You Need to Know To Heal Cancer

Have you ever wondered why if a natural therapy fails to heal cancer then it’s the fault of the therapy, but if chemotherapy fails, it’s the fault of the patient? They are told their tumor just didn’t respond to the treatment, not that the treatment wasn’t appropriate!

In the alternative cancer treatment field, we’ve known for quite some time that the conventional approach to healing cancer with chemotherapy is fundamentally flawed. It not only works against the body’s immune system (working with the immune system is the only way to truly heal cancer), it can create a host of new problems like fueling cancer stem cell growth and creating new cancers in other parts of the body.

Ty Bollinger, in The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest, spent much of his recent nine-part docu-series interviewing experts from around the globe on the failures of chemotherapy. Many patient stories highlighted the issues with chemotherapy and its devastating effect on the cancer patient’s body. Those experts and cancer conquerors articulated what we see with every patient who comes to Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers after having undergone chemotherapy — there is a lot of repair work to be done before healing can begin.

A Poor Option

A meta-analysis conducted by Australian researchers looked at the five-year survival rates of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy— The Contribution of Cytotoxic Chemotherapy to 5-year Survival in Adult Malignancies. Their paper estimated chemotherapy to be between 2.1 and 2.3 percent effective in treating adult cancers.

That means that 97 percent of the time, chemotherapy fails to heal a cancer patient.

I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t buy a car or a blender with a more than 97 percent failure rate. Why is such a failure rate acceptable for healing cancer?

Who Benefits from Chemotherapy

I share Natural News’ frustration, expressed in a recent article that questions the cost and effectiveness of the conventional approach to oncology. Patients and their insurance companies are paying tens of thousands of dollars for treatments that are not effective for the vast majority prescribed chemotherapy. Perhaps it’s the monetary incentive received by the prescribing oncologists that keeps this broken system in place. According to naturopathic doctor and author of The MD Emperor Has No Clothes, Peter Glidden (click here for his YouTube Channel),

“Chemotherapeutic drugs are the only classification of drugs that the prescribing doctor gets a direct cut of. The only reason chemotherapy is used because doctors make money from it. Period. It doesn’t work.”

After my years of working as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, I am well aware of the ethical issues facing the conventional cancer system. It’s terribly unfortunate, especially for the recently diagnosed cancer patients who don’t know what happens behind the scenes.

Fueling New Cancer

In a 2012 article in Nature Medicine, researchers associated with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, found chemotherapy may actually make cancer worse. The scientists found that it damaged healthy cells, and when that happened, those healthy cells secreted more of a protein called WNT16B, which in turn boosted the neighboring cancer cells and improved their survival despite the use of chemotherapy.

“WNT16B, when secreted, would interact with nearby tumor cells and cause them to grow, invade, and importantly, resist subsequent therapy,” said Peter Nelson, a study author from the Department of Pathology, University of Washington. [as reported by NY Daily News]

How much more evidence do we need before people realize that there has to be a better way?

Missing The Source

We all have cancer cells in our bodies that develop every day. But if we are healthy, our immune systems take care of those cells and keep them from replicating uncontrollably and forming a mass. When a cell becomes cancerous, it escapes the normal biological controls to which all normal cells are subjected in our body. In many ways, it is a failure of the body’s communication methods, which makes it possible for the body’s immune system to miss the growth of cancer cells.

While many chemotherapies can reduce the bulk of a tumor and shrink its size, no chemotherapy methods have been shown to eradicate cancer stem cells — the source of the cancer cells (daughter cells) that form the tumor. Cancer stem cells are a subpopulation of cancer cells, which are similar to normal human stem cells that give rise to all the tissues of the body. They have the capacity for self-renewal, can differentiate into multiple types of cancer cells, and can proliferate extensively. There is considerable interest in studying cancer stem cells and developing therapies that eliminate them from the body, but this research has not yet been fully incorporated into state-of-the-art treatments.

We see many patients who come to our clinic after thinking they have achieved remission because their tumors shrank, but then cancer shows up again in the same place or somewhere else. Cancer is not just a “bump” that can be eradicated with conventional methods, because that “bump” is a symptom of the disease, which is a suppressed immune system. And chemotherapy does not help the immune system. It hurts it.
