Dear Dr. Tony,
Ray and I thank the Lord for each one of you who have remembered us in prayer and through the many cards and letters we received while we at the Hope4Cancer Institute in Tijuana, Mexico. The clinic staff was so impressed with all the love we received through the mail. Our testimony to the staff was that we were just members of the body of Christ and that we've known these Christians for many years. This gave us many opportunities to share the love of Christ with them. The Lord has truly said "by this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another".
Dr. Tony Jimenez who is my doctor impressed us with his experience in alternative medicine and his thoroughness in evaluating my situation. We also found him to be a very dear brother in the Lord. He shared with us that he had a "powerful salvation experience with the Lord 9 years ago". Because of our fellowship with him during these 3 weeks, he felt that we were there just for him. He indicated that he had been too involved with his medical practice and that our being there was "monumental" for him spiritually". After leaving Mexico, we spent 3 days with the Balzano family which was so enjoyable. I especially enjoyed some sweet times with Brookes mother, Virginia. Brooke is without a doubt "the hostess with the mostest". We had a whole afternoon with Zoe and also visited with Lisa and Clay. The Balzano home was a beautiful retreat for us after Mexico. We also met once with the saints in Thousand Oaks for the Lords Table.
We arrived home June 13 and are continuing a home treatment for a month prescribed by Dr. Jimenez but have fallen behind. My medical evaluation is too soon to tell. My oncologist at Henry Ford Hospital is very supportive in what we are doing.
"For our momentary light affliction worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory".2 Cor.4:17
Ray and I have been very comforted by Jobs' experience. Sometimes the Lord allows us to go through these trials of life similar to Job. The Lord said to satan, "have you considered my servant Job, that he was perfect, upright, feared God and turned away from "evil". Job 2:3 satan answered the Lord and said "touch his flesh and he will curse you to your face". Like Job, Ray and I KNOW that we have had so much of Gods blessing in our lives and as Job responded "what, shall we receive good at the hand of the Lord and shall we not receive evil?" We have definitely examined ourselves and do realize that we do come up short and are so thankful that we are in the continuous cleansing of the blood of Christ but God is faithful and righteous in all His doings and will complete the work He's begun in us.
The Apostle Paul was given "a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan, to buffet him that he wouldn't be exalted above measure "because of his high revelation. As Paul did, we are experiencing the grace of God in the infirmity of our flesh.
According to 1 Thess.chaps.4 & 5,the answer for most of our problems is for the Lord to return. 1 Thess.5:9,10 "for God has not appointed us to wrath but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep we should live together with Him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together and edify one another, even as you also do." This word from Paul is most definitely a comfort and hope to me.
