Prevention of cancer disease can play a more significant role in the decrease of cancer mortality than treating the existing disease.  At Hope4Cancer Institute we have developed a Cancer Prevention Program designed for people who have risk factors or predisposed genetic factors.   You can reduce your chance of developing cancer by increasing your awareness of surrounding cancer causing hazards and increasing your health and education.

The Preventive Program at Hope4Cancer begins with an Assessment.  Patients will travel to our facility for 3 days of comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic testing.   Male and Female genders are naturally disposed to different types of cancers therefore the assessments vary slightly.

The Preventive Program for Male gender is as follows:

Blood Tests:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) – Measures the concentration of white blood cells (which fight infection), red blood cells (which carry oxygen throughout the body) and platelets.
  • Platelets –Measures the concentration of blood cells responsible for the clotting of blood.
  • Blood type and Rh test – Determines antigens and proteins in the blood which affect the development of antibodies.
  • PT and PTT –Prothrombin time (PT) and partial thromboplastin time (PTT) tests are used to evaluate the extrinsic coagulation system; i.e.: bleeding tendencies and clotting time.
  • CBCP (SMAC-27) – Complete Blood Chemistry Panel – chemistry screening panel measuring levels of 27 blood parameters, such as electrolytes, kidney and liver function, cholesterol, glucose and iron levels, among others.
  • PSA - A prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test measures the amount of prostate- antigens in a man’s blood, part of an initial assessment for prostate health .
  • CEA - Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) test measures a protein that may appear in the blood of people who have certain cancers, i.e.: large intestine (colon and rectal) cancer. It may also be present in people with cancer of the pancreas, breast, ovary, or lung.
  • CRP – C-Reactive Protein presence indicates an increased state of inflammation in the body.  CRP levels seem to be correlated with levels of cardiovascular risk.
  • Sed. Rate – Sedimentation Rate blood test measures how quickly red blood cells (erythrocytes) settle in a test tube in one hour.  Sed Rate test is performed to find out if “acute” inflammation is present, check on the progress of disease, and see how well treatment is going.
  • Homocysteine – Measures amino acids levels normally found in the blood.  Homocysteine is thought to promote atherosclerosis by directly damaging the artery and by reducing the integrity of the vessel wall, thereby increasing risk of developing heart disease and stroke.
  • Urinalysis - Also called UA, random specimen, clean catch. Collection of urine to evaluate for blood, infection, or other urinary tract problems.

Radiology:

  • Chest X-Ray - A picture of the chest that shows your heart, lungs, airway, blood vessels, and lymph nodes. Routine screening for signs of lung cancer, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and emphysema, among others.
  • Trans-Rectal Power Color Doppler/Ultrasound – A screening method used to produce sonographic images using high-frequency sound waves to obtain a detailed image of the body's internal structures.
  • Abdominal-Pelvic Ultrasound – A screening method which uses sound waves to produce a picture of the organs and structures in the abdomen and pelvic areas.

Internal Medicine Evaluation with EKG

An evaluation for the purpose of providing effective treatment for problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system, reproductive organs, and internal systems.

Biological Dentist Evaluation

A total and thorough assessment with regards to heavy metals, root canals, cavitations, gum disease, oral health, and skeletal alignment.

Review of Complete Medical History

Includes review of chief complaint, review of illnesses, family history, current medications, etc.

Energetic Assessment (Biofeedback)

Computer based system for measuring the energetic balance of the body used to identify energetic causes that deter optimum health.

Optional:

  • Colonoscopy - Endoscopic examination of the large colon and the distal part of the small bowel using a fiber optic camera on a flexible tube passed through the anus.
  • Nutritional Consultation - A review of your diet and lifestyle with recommended changes and modifications.
  • Additional Blood Tests (Thyroid Function, Growth Hormone, etc.) – Depending on your diagnosis and the results of more common tests, additional blood tests may be prescribed.

The Preventive Program for Female gender is as follows:

  • CA 15-3 - is a protein that is a normal product of breast tissue.  Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) is a blood test that is given during or after treatment for breast cancer. It is most useful in monitoring advanced breast cancer and your response to treatment. CA 15-3 is not a blood test that screens for breast cancer. It is a tumor marker test that is helpful in tracking cancers that overproduce CA 15-3.
